Ms. Mims practices in the Firm's Toxic Torts & Products Liability group. She has been part of the successful defense of the In re Phenylpropanolamine (“PPA”) litigation, among other serial matters. Ms. Mims manages and develops the defense of product cases, including analyzing ongoing litigation, coordinating the work of counsel across the country, selecting and preparing expert witnesses, and deposing treating physicians. She has managed massive discovery efforts, including in complex products and environmental matters. Ms. Mims also has experience with class certification litigation in complex, multi-defendant product liability cases, and she is working on a major constitutional challenge to certain federal environmental laws on behalf of a corporate client.

Ms. Mims also works on litigation involving civil and criminal fraud investigations, and she represents corporations in litigation involving complex allegations arising under the False Claims Act. She has substantial experience related to federal grand jury investigations.

As part of her pro bono service, Ms. Mims received extensive training in the defense of indigent clients facing criminal charges. Her pro bono work also includes advising indigent clients on family law issues and representing clients on political asylum matters, including a trial before the Immigration Court and work before the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”).

Ms. Mims currently serves as co-chair of the Litigation Forum for the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
