Mr. Biegon's practice covers a range of complex litigation as well as electronic discovery and records management. He ensures compliance with e-discovery obligations and rules in individual cases and across portfolios of cases where the Firm is counsel. He works closely with the Firm's Litigation Support group to ensure that electronic information is acquired, analyzed, prepared for production, produced, tracked, and mined for litigation value. He further helps to develop electronic information retention programs for corporate clients. Mr. Biegon has broad experience in patent infringement, trade secret, and antitrust litigation involving a diverse array of technologies, including medical devices, biotechnology, software, software modems, data compression, fault-tolerant networks, Internet browsing, and automotive equipment. He has been involved in trade secret, copyright, and patent infringement litigation involving network certification and accreditation software; patent infringement litigation involving major Internet service provider Internet browsing software; misappropriation of trade secrets litigation involving voice data link technology; patent litigation involving alleging infringement of patent directed to oncogene; patent litigation alleging infringement of patents directed to consumer paper products; antitrust litigation in Federal Trade Commission involving post-merger challenge of corporate acquisition in market for structural analysis software; and antitrust litigation involving market for aircraft navigational equipment. His practice extends into insurance coverage disputes and serial products defense. Mr. Biegon has also effectively employed the government contractor defense to protect contractor clients from specious claims made by third parties. Mr. Biegon served as a member of the Virginia Law Review.
