On October 5, 2011, at the New York Athletic Club, Kirby Griffis spoke at the Searle Civil Justice Institute's conference, Third-Party Financing of Litigation: Friend or Foe? The Institute is one of five divisions of the George Mason University Law & Economics Center, a national center for research and education focusing on timely and relevant economic analysis of legal and public policy issues. Mr. Griffis, who receives frequent requests to speak and write on this topic, presented as part of the panel, "Implications of Third-Party Financing on the U.S. Civil Justice System."
The goal of the Conference is to evaluate the probable economic and legal issues resulting from the increase of third-party financing of litigation, with special focus on the potential global impact on economic growth and free enterprise.
