In conjunction with the Disability Rights Project of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, Firm associate Tamara Fishman has successfully represented a disabled woman who was caught in a Washington, D.C. store and unable to leave during an emergency. The claim settled with a monetary payment and an agreement by the store to review and improve its emergency evacuation procedures specifically as they pertain to disabled persons.
