Gifts for the Homeless (GFTH) is an all-volunteer nonprofit that provides clothing and blankets to homeless men, women, and children in the Washington, DC Metro area to keep them warm during the cold winter months.  GFTH works on the front lines helping the poorest people in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.  Hollingsworth LLP has been an annual supporter of GFTH since the group’s founding in 1986.

In 2019, GFTH provided approximately 120,000 articles of essential new clothing and blankets to seventy-six homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and transitional housing facilities.  This year more than ever, GFTH is striving to ensure that homeless men, women, and children in our community have enough warm clothing.  Due to the pandemic, this winter is a particularly difficult time for the homeless population, one of the groups most vulnerable to the novel Coronavirus and suffering disproportionately from it.  Consequently, shelters and other homeless support organizations throughout the Metro area have a greater and more urgent dependence on GFTH.

Also, as a result of the pandemic, GFTH is not able to hold its annual December used clothing drive and is therefore entirely reliant on monetary donations.  Hollingsworth is proud to donate to GFTH in support of its mission and to match all employee donations made in December.
