The Firm designates The Women’s Center as its September 2021 Community Engagement Partner

Continuing to support Washington, DC residents in need, Hollingsworth LLP designates The Women’s Center as its September Community Engagement Partner. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the mental health of many individuals in our community and The Women’s Center provides affordable mental health services and education to families in Washington, DC and Virginia. In 2020 alone, The Women’s Center provided services to almost 5,000 members of the community. The Firm will make a donation to The Women’s Center and will match donations by all Firm employees made during September.

For 45 years, The Women’s Center has provided mental health counseling, support, and education to the DC Metropolitan area to help people live healthy, stable, and productive lives. Since the onset of the pandemic, The Women’s Center has seen a 21% increase in requests for adolescent mental health counseling sessions.  The Women’s Center employs full-time and part-time therapists to provide, on a sliding scale, services to women, men, families, young adults, and children. With a 25% increase in requests for domestic violence services during the pandemic, The Women’s Center is working to provide both group and private sessions to survivors of interpersonal violence, including sexual assault.

The Women’s Center also provides education and career services. Education workshops are facilitated and led by members of the community as well as therapists and staff. Topics presented are based on community need in areas relating to career, family, and personal growth. The Women’s Center also offers a variety of services to assist those seeking employment, changing career paths, and re-entering the job market.
