Ann Czyzewski Farr practices in the firm’s Complex Litigation, Pharmaceutical Products, and Toxic Torts & Products Liability groups. Often described as highly driven, passionate about her work, and a quick learner, Ann gravitated to the practice of law early in life as the logic and reasoning aspects of law fit her well and allowed her a platform from which to write and assemble strategic arguments.
Ann earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Sports and Entertainment Law Journal and received the Bracewell LLP Appellate Advocacy Best Brief Award. She was a member of the Extramural Moot Court Team and competed in moot court competitions, including the William M. Lile Moot Court Competition.
During law school, Ann worked as a Research Assistant for a UVA Law School professor, where she evaluated the use of strict scrutiny in the equal protection doctrine, analyzed state laws governing standards for discretionary appellate jurisdiction, and drafted a memorandum in support of a U.S. Supreme Court cert petition. She also volunteered at The Rutherford Institute, where she researched and prepared memoranda assessing government regulations of the right to travel, evidence suppression, and other constitutional and procedural issues. Ann also interned with the Housing Clinic at the Legal Aid Justice Center where she drafted pleadings and argued on behalf of a client in a voucher termination hearing.
Graduating, summa cum laude, from Bellarmine University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice Studies and Philosophy, Ann was President of the Mock Trial Team and was named top attorney at invitational and regional tournaments. During college, she served as an Intern at the Jefferson County Office of Circuit Court Clerk and at the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney, both in Louisville, KY.
Ann escapes the practice of law by challenging her skills in Escape Rooms around the country and in every city she visits. When she’s not escaping, she’s back in learning mode by taking in many of the museums that Washington, DC has to offer.
