Known to be decisive and proactive, with a pinch of curiosity, Rick Hauptman is a professional problem solver who takes pride in delivering accurate results. All business on the job, Rick is driven by seeing all parts of a case come seamlessly together and knowing he had a hand in crafting the end result.

Working in the Toxic Torts & Products Liability, Pharmaceutical Products, and Complex Litigation practice groups, Rick is a member of the firm’s trial team engaged in the serial litigation over an EPA-approved herbicide.

Prior to joining the firm, Rick was in private practice with nationally recognized large Washington, D.C. law firms, engaged in document analysis and production on complex litigation, investigation, and regulatory matters. With extensive experience in E-Discovery on Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Justice, and Federal Trade Commission matters, he is also experienced in pharmaceutical investigations, employment matters, contract litigation, and disputes under the Federal Maritime Act. He has served as the lead attorney for E-Discovery reviews and has worked on large-scale securities cases and investigations.

Rick is admitted in Washington, DC and New York. He obtained his J.D. from Tulane Law School and graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science.

When he has time away from the office, Rick enjoys sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, taking his Ducati out for a spin, working out and hiking. An animal lover at heart, Rick describes his second career as a kennel owner in the West Virginia mountains.
